Air Jordan 1 (I) - Father’s Day

Air Jordan 1 (I) - Father’s Day
Michael Jordan’s father, James Jordan Jr., was killed on July 23, 1993. Now, as a special tribute to James Jordan, as well as to celebrate fathers all over the world, the Brand Jordan has made the Jordan 1 Father’s Day Pack.
The light brown colorway has an upper that is made of herringbone patterns in small squares. This is rather unique as the squares make another pattern on a larger scale. The white leather accent is nice as it connects the black shoe lace by providing a striking frame. The back tab at the heel is also white to complete a rounded look with the white accent. The embroidery of a tool box at the bottom denotes that this is a masculine shoe. Above it, at the top of the heel, is the embroidery of the Jordan logo. The Nike swoosh is done on a piece of clear material and it is then stitched over the shoe upper. This creates a rather unique effect as we can see the herringbone patterns beneath the swoosh.

Air Jordan 1 (I) Retro - Father’s Day
The Air Jordan 1 (I) - Father’s Day which features a black and white upper along with a black and white tweed toebox and midpanel. The black colorway looks identical to the first pair that was discussed above. The interplay of colors was well done. The “Father’s Day” design hit comes in the form of a toolbox embroidery at the heel. This embroidery spells out POPS and symbolizes Michael’s father. The symbolism of the toolbox itself may have contributed to Michael’s signature “tongue wag”. MJ’s “tongue wag” came from his father who hung his tongue out of his mouth while absorbed in work.
Beyond a tribute to his father, Father’s Day itself is a very important day in the history of Michael Jordan’s career. MJ won his fourth championship on Father’s Day the year that his father was murdered.
